A woman is dead after getting stabbed at a Middle Tennessee apartment complex.  Police in Springfield responded to the incident last night around 6:30 p.m. at the 17th Avenue East Apartments.  That’s where they found the unresponsive victim who was later pronounced dead at the hospital.  Police say a suspect believed to have been in a relationship with the victim was found at the crime scene and taken into custody.

A man wanted on warrants out of Nashville and Rutherford County is in custody following a hit-and-run crash in Mount Juliet.  Authorities say the incident happened along Old Pleasant Grove Road yesterday evening.  Officers eventually found the man hiding in a women’s restroom at a nearby Cheddar’s restaurant, according to Mount Juliet police.  Officials say the unnamed suspect had probation violation warrants on the books in Nashville and was wanted on robbery, child abuse, and other charges in Rutherford County.

A Goodlettsville man is in custody after police accused him of beating his wife to death.  The employer of Karlie Judge had the police do a welfare check when she hadn’t show up for work for two consecutive shifts. Police found the woman dead inside her bedroom with a severe head injury lying in a pool of blood. Detectives said they identified Karlie’s husband Jeffrey Judge as the suspect because there were no signs of forced entry and the door had been locked with a key.   He is now in jail without bond.

Sleep apnea or snoring could be linked to lower brain volume. A French study shows that a part of the brain connected to memory shrinks in those with severe sleep-disordered breathing. The study’s lead author, a research officer at the National Institute of Health and Medical Research in France, said that the untreated sleep disorder could increase risk of dementia.

Scientists say a small asteroid has been following the Earth in its orbit around the Sun for over two-thousand years.  The asteroid was discovered in March at an observatory in Hawaii, and is estimated to be about 50 feet in diameter.  Scientists are calling it a “quasi-moon” because it orbits the Sun in a similar time frame as the Earth, though it’s roughly nine-million miles away..
