A traffic stop in Mt. Juliet resulted in the arrest of a Nashville man who was out on bond for his involvement in a triple shooting and murder. The Mt. Juliet Police Department said officers pulled a vehicle over on Mt. Juliet Road near Providence. Later, officers discovered the 20-year-old Nashville man in the car had a handgun with him, despite being a convicted felon with a previous robbery charge. They also found he was out on bond for his involvement in a Nashville triple shooting and murder that happened in September of 2022. Police also found marijuana in the vehicle.
A Wilson County couple is traveling to Barbados for IVF treatments. This comes when there are still questions about the future of IVF, after the Supreme Court’s abortion ruling and no mandate for insurance companies in Tennessee to cover infertility treatments. Walter and Caitlin Purnell. were told their only option to conceive was through IVF.
Yesterday, the Clarksville Police Department said officers responded to a call about a shooting. Officials said Clarksville High School and Richview Middle School were notified immediately due to their close proximity to the scene, adding that both schools went into a “lockout” status. Shortly before 1:30 p.m., the department confirmed the “lockout” had been lifted. Police responded quickly to investigate the incident, but no injuries were reported. According to authorities, witnesses said two suspects in a Jeep fled the area.
Coffee County law enforcement responded to a tip about a potential homicide Wednesday afternoon, only to discover it was a “swatting” call. The Coffee County Sheriff’s Department said a call came in on Wednesday, April 24 about a possible homicide in the Toliver Lake Road area. When deputies arrived at the scene, they secured the area, but after clearing the home and talking with the occupant, they determined it was a “swatting” call. Coffee County authorities said they take these types of calls seriously, so an investigation is underway to determine the origin and identity of the caller.
