Lebanon is applying for a state grant for half the cost of turning the Don Fox Community Park wading pool into a splash pad. The estimated cost to transform the 6,000-square-foot pool into a splash pad is around $700,000, and 50 percent of the funding would come from the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation’s Local Parks and Recreation Fund grant, which the city is applying for. The other half would come from the city’s general fund. If the splash pad project is approved, it would be about a three-year process, which includes six to eight months of construction.
