More than a month after 15-year-old Sebastian Rogers went missing from his home in Hendersonville, officials are combing through the neighborhood in a massive operation for clues in his disappearance. The Sumner County Sheriff’s Office announced agencies would conduct another thorough search for Sebastian on Wednesday, April 3. As many as 200 law enforcement officers combed through the Long Hollow Pike area, walking in grid searches and searching through thickets along creek beds. Sumner County Chief Deputy Eric Craddock said there has been no evidence pointing to foul play in Sebastian’s disappearance, but they are “not ruling anything out.”

A Franklin man is dead after a tree fell on him in a rural part of Williamson County Wednesday evening. The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office says 26-year-old Miguel Ramos — was at a construction site for a new upscale subdivision called the Cliffs at Garrison Creek. Investigators say Ramos was standing beside a red work truck when the tree fell on him and the vehicle. Officials at the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development said the Tennessee Occupational Safety and Health Administration was notified and has launched a workplace investigation into Ramos’ death.

Lawmakers are close to passing a bill that could arm teachers with guns. HB1202/SB1325 would not require but would allow people who work at schools to carry concealed guns on school property. The bill was heard in the Senate Judiciary Committee on Tuesday. Senator Paul Bailey (R-Sparta) presented the bill, allowing certain staff members to carry concealed guns in schools. They would also have to get a psychological evaluation, background check, and 40 hours of training per year. The bill is on target to clear the Senate but is held on the desk in the House. That means it’s not going anywhere, but that could change — it could be amended or added to another bill.
