A Clarksville mom is going before the local Board of Education, calling for an educator to be fired after she allegedly pulled her son’s hair and screamed at him. Jacaira Crockett organized a group that demonstrated at the Clarksville-Montgomery County School Board after an incident stemming back to September 2023. Crockett said her 4-year-old son, Landon, has autism and is non-verbal. Landon came home pointing to his hair. Crockett said in addition to the teacher being terminated, she would also like to see criminal charges in the matter.

The Mt. Juliet Police Department is investigating after a man was reportedly found dead on a creek bank Tuesday. Police said the man’s body was discovered at the bottom of a steep embankment along the creek, near the 15200 block of Lebanon Road. Detectives were still working to determine the circumstances surrounding the man’s death. The individual has been identified. However, authorities have not yet released his name.

The TennGreen Land Conservancy is encouraging you to sign up for their Hike-A-Thon for a chance to protect the state’s land and water. The month-long competition in April is free for you to register and organizers say you can participate from anywhere in the world. The conservancy started collecting donations on March 1st and so far, they’ve raised more than $170,000 of their $200,000 goal.

Springfield is in the process of installing a fast-charging station for electric vehicles. Last week, the Springfield Board of Mayors and gave final approval to an ordinance amending the schedule of rates and fees for its electric service to include an electric vehicle (EV) charging rate, paving the way for the installation of a charging station. Springfield was one of 12 municipalities or local government entities that received $5.2 million in total grant funding from the TDEC to install direct current fast charging (DCFC) infrastructure for electric vehicles (EVs) along prioritized interstate or major highway corridors across the state.
