A U.S. Army soldier and intelligence analyst was arrested Thursday at Fort Campbell after being accused of selling confidential information related to national security to China. A grand jury indicted U.S. Army Sgt. Korbein Schultz on multiple charges related to the alleged conspiracy. Prosecutors say in exchange for the documents and information Schultz received at least 14 payments that totaled around $42,000. To conceal his alleged conduct, Schultz I said to have used multiple internet-based encrypted methods and discussed destroying evidence.
Police in Gallatin say a person wearing a disguise — including a wig, scarf, and crazy sweater — entered Julio’s Lucky Lotto Market and Deli on West Eastland Avenue around 11 p.m. on Monday, March 4. The suspect — identified by authorities as Brian Wilson — reportedly demanded the cash. When the clerk refused, surveillance video shows the wig-wearing man yanking the cash drawer out of the register. Wilson is currently being held in the Sumner County Jail on a $40,000 bond for multiple charges, including theft and robbery.
In the recent primary election, Smyrna residents made a clear statement about the fate of their General Sessions court. Despite a concerted effort to abolish it, the referendum was defeated by a substantial margin, ensuring the court’s continued operation. The final vote count for the referendum to amend the town charter stood at 3,329 in favor of retaining the court, while 1,332 votes were cast to eliminate it.
Sumner County deputies and the Kentucky State Police are searching a landfill in Hopkins County Kentucky where trash went from missing 15-year-old Sebastian Rogers’ neighborhood. The Sumner County Sheriff’s Office says the investigators are searching the landfill with help from KSP officers.
