Authorities have identified the Canadian family of five who died in a plane crash in West Nashville. The pilot was 43-year-Victor Dotsenko, his wife, 39-year-old Rimma Dotsenko, and their three children, 12-year-old David, 10-year-old Adam, and 7-year-old Emma. Air Safety Investigator with the National Transportation and Safety Board (NTSB), preliminary indications said the plane experienced a “catastrophic” and total loss of power in the engine “for reasons unknown.” The plane’s flight path originated from Ontario, Canada.

Robertson County woman is facing multiple charges in connection with the death of a child in Cheatham County last July. That’s the day 5-year-old Turner Simpkins was found dead at his home along Poplar Ridge Road in Chapmansboro. The TBI is investigating Turner’s death as a homicide, saying the little boy died of chronic blunt force injuries and malnourishment.

Detectives say 18-year-old Keydarius Thomas is accused of pulling a gun during an alleged road rage incident in January. He was arrested Tuesday and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The victim told police Thomas got out of his vehicle and pulled a gun on him after he accidentally cut him off on the roadway near the intersection of Briarville Road and West Due West Avenue. The victim then followed Thomas, who allegedly pulled out another weapon – possibly a machete – before dropping off his passengers and speeding away. The victim was able to positively identify Thomas from a photo lineup. He remains jailed on a $12,500 bond.

A pedestrian in a wheelchair died after being hit by a vehicle while attempting to cross a highway in Springfield. The Tennessee Highway Patrol says the incident occurred just after 6:30 Tuesday night when a 17-year-old was driving south on Tom Austin Highway when the pedestrian attempted to cross the highway traveling east. Troopers say the pedestrian entered the driver’s lane of travel. The vehicle struck the pedestrian and came to rest on the right shoulder. The pedestrian came to rest at the center turn lane.THP identified the victim as 58-year-old Gary Clark. According to the preliminary report from THP, the driver is not facing any charges
