The death of an infant is under investigation in Clarksville. Police responded to a residence on Citadel Drive on Sunday after a 911 call stating an infant had been shot. The child was pronounced dead at the scene. No other information is available.
A drive to work took a nasty turn for a Madison grandfather who said three shots were fired toward his car. Chuck Turner said it was around 9:45 p.m. Monday, Jan. 22 when he went around a vehicle on Old Hickory Boulevard. The next thing he knew, he was dodging bullets. Turner said it could have been a case of mistaken identity as his windows are tinted. As a combat veteran, Turner said he has dodged missiles and bombs, but said he never thought he’d have to do it in his hometown.
A school bus collided with a Toyota Highlander SUV in Clarksville around 3:20 Tuesday afternoon near the intersection of Tiny Town Road and Twelve Oaks Boulevard. None of the children on the bus were injured and the driver of the Highlander reportedly suffered only minor injuries.
A Middle Tennessee sheriff’s office is on the hunt for an alleged gang member accused of buying a vehicle on Facebook Marketplace using counterfeit money. Putnam County Sheriff’s Office deputies say the owner of the vehicle attempted to sell it on Facebook Marketplace On Feb. 21, where they received a request to purchase from an individual identifying as Clint James. Police say his real name is Clifford Johnathan Fine III of New Port, TN. He has active arrest warrants in Putnam County for felony theft and criminal simulation, as well as active arrest warrants in other counties.
