If you’re hitting the road this weekend, you’ll be paying a little less for gas. Triple-A says the average price at the pump for regular gas is a few cents lower than a week ago at three-20 a gallon. The national average for regular gas is three-68. The least expensive gas in a metro area is found in Cleveland at three-oh-five-a-gallon, Chattanooga at three-12, Nashville at three-16-a-gallon and Johnson City at three-17..
Clarksville Parks & Recreation will host Movies in the Park tomorrow at Heritage Park Soccer Practice Field. Pre-show activities will begin at 5 p.m. and the movie ‘Coco’ will start at sunset (around 7 p.m.). Spanish subtitles will be provided during the film. Food trucks will be on site and guests are encouraged to arrive early and bring lawn chairs, blankets, and bug spray. Alcohol and pets are prohibited at this event.
Sen. Marsha Blackburn has asked the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to investigate the use of puberty blockers.
In a letter to the FDA, Blackburn asked the agency for information on the administering of hormone blockers to minors diagnosed with gender dysphoria or for transgender care, including what trials or studies have been conducted and how many reports of adverse effects the FDA has received.
The Tennessee senator also asked the FDA to conduct studies on the long-term effects on pediatric patients who were administered hormone blockers. Blackburn’s letter comes amid controversy surrounding Vanderbilt University Medical Center’s pediatric transgender health clinic. The senator said she supports Gov. Bill Lee’s call for an investigation into the clinic.
