Janice Bowling (R-Tullahoma) has introduced a bill that would supersede any legislation related to extreme risk protection orders and would make any attempt to keep a gun out of the hands of such a person is guilty of a misdemeanor.
After 27 years in business, a beloved cafe in Lebanon said they were forced out of their location. With high rent prices and costly renovations, the owner of Cedar Street Eats, formerly Frankie’s Cafe, is afraid she’ll lose her livelihood. Frankie has owned the cafe in Lebanon for nearly three decades. Promising to reopen, she said finding affordable rent was challenging. She said rent anywhere else was six times the amount she paid. She was unwilling to give up, so she said an empty building off Cedar Street fell into her lap. A GoFundMe account has been set up to help pay for renovations.
A woman is dead following a Monday night rollover crash in Clarksville. 49-year-old Liana Allen from Ashland City was driving southbound on Ft. Campbell Boulevard when her vehicle left the roadway and hit a pole. Allen had to be extricated from the vehicle and was taken to Tennova Healthcare where she died shortly after arrival, according to investigators. The southbound lanes of Ft. Campbell Boulevard were closed from Old Hopkinsville Road to Quinn Lane while authorities worked to clear the crash.
A man accused of using counterfeit money to purchase items from Facebook Marketplace for months was arrested yesterday in Clarksville. Police said 31-year-old Laquinton Tillman could face more charges as evidence is presented to the Montgomery County grand jury. Tillman is accused of using counterfeit money to make purchases from several people who posted items for sale on Facebook Marketplace since August 2023. Police said potentially more victims may have unknowingly received counterfeit money from Tillman during these transactions.
