There’s bad news and good news. The bad news is there’s snow in the Middle Tennessee forecast Today. The good news is it will be just a dusting of snow unless you live out east near Cookeville or Jamestown, then you could get up to an inch. Then Highs will be in the upper 40s Saturday and will be warmer Sunday in the mid-50s.
The Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) arrested 26-year-old Treavon Midgett. He is charged with three counts of aggravated rape, and aggravated kidnapping for two separate sexual assaults, the first on Christmas Day. Detectives located Midgett Thursday and took him into custody. During an interview, he admitted he was the person in the video from the Dec. 25 attack. He also admitted to meeting the second victim on Dec. 27.
Some of the most popular hemp products may soon be illegal in Tennessee if the state’s Department of Agriculture’s proposed rules for testing cannabis flower and products are made official. Under current laws, it is legal to sell hemp or cannabis so long as it contains less than 0.3% delta-9 THC. That’s the stuff that gets you high but it’s only one form of THC. The proposal defines “total THC” in a hemp product as the flower or product’s delta-9 THC content and the potential delta-9 THC that could come from THCA. And that could put the burgeoning hemp business in the state, out of business,
The American Automobile Association (AAA) projects 2.7 million Tennesseans will travel 50 miles or more during the year-end travel period from Dec. 23 to Jan. 1. That’s a 3% increase over last year-end and the second highest year-end travel forecast since 2000. Following Christmas, today is expected to be the worst for congestion on the roadways. It’s important to be strategic about when you leave and come to home. Officials say to avoid between 2 and 8 p.m. to begin your commute.
