Pop-up advertisements on social media can appear to be from a charity soliciting donations or an ad for that sought-after item on your Christmas list. Be aware scammers often duplicate websites to steal your money and personal information. And if you want to give to a charity don’t do it by following an email link. Go to a charity’s official website directly to make that donation.
Local folks watching Thanksgiving Day football were surprised when Who Doesn’t Love Dolly Parton put on a dazzling halftime performance as the Dallas Cowboys took on the Washington Commanders. Parton took the stage at AT&T Stadium in Arlington wearing a modified version of a Cowboys cheerleader outfit and immediately launched into “Jolene” Afterward the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders joined her on the field and danced while she transitioned to “9 to 5.” The halftime show was part of the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign which provides money for families for Christmas gifts, rent assistance, and housing.
