On Tuesday night, the Rutherford County School Board voted to change the zoning maps for elementary, middle, and high schools in the county despite pleas from parents.  Rutherford County Director of Schools Jimmy Sullivan said it isn’t something he wanted to do, but he felt there was no other option.  Sullivan said the board is working with the county commission to get more funding for new schools. However, in the meantime, the county needs to move students around to relieve packed schools and fill empty seats elsewhere.

Hundreds of people are petitioning for the removal of a cellphone tower in Williamson County. Right before the school year started, the tower was placed close to Trinity Elementary School.  Objections center around health concerns and transparency.  The FCC said there’s no reason to believe cell phone towers near homes or schools are a safety hazard.

Thieves are stealing major appliances from inside of newly-built townhomes in Donelson.  Around 3 a.m. Tuesday, Metro Nashville Police said thieves broke inside of four townhomes stealing stoves and other items including a TV.  After the thieves managed to get the stove out of the home, the homeowner said the thieves went out through the garage. He’s thankful no one was inside during the break-in.

The Hendersonville Police Department caught employees at four local businesses selling alcohol and or tobacco to under-aged individuals after conducting compliance checks.  Officers conducted the checks Monday on businesses within city limits. The departments says it did so to ensure laws pertaining to the sale of alcohol and tobacco products to minors were being followed.  Out of 27 businesses were checked. Four establishments did not comply with the requirements of the law.

The Clarksville Police Department is searching for two suspects wanted in connection to several vehicle burglaries and identity thefts.  Police report the burglaries and theft cases occurred on Nov. 4. Officers responded to Heritage Park and the Clarksville Athletic Club after several citizens reported their vehicles were burglarized between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m.  Anyone with information on the suspects or additional video footage is asked to call the Clarksville Montgomery County Crime Stoppers Tipsline.
