Cheatham County deputies chased a domestic violence suspect who allegedly threatened his girlfriend with a gun.  The 23-year-old man, identified as Jimmy Netherton, made the threat before the pair took off. Deputies spotted the couple running through yards, over fences and fields.  A 25-year-old woman running with Netherton was identified as Alexis Reynolds, who was charged with multiple warrants including fugitive from justice charges. Netherton is still in jail and charged with multiple felonies,.  His bond is $53,500.

A 17-year-old student was arrested after he reportedly brought a loaded handgun to school Tuesday.  Metro police reported the loaded handgun was found in the center console the student’s vehicle in the McGavock High School parking lot.  The student spoke with investigators and reportedly admitted the Ruger 9-millimeter found inside the vehicle belonged to him.  He was charged with bringing a weapon on school property.

At least one person was killed in a domestic-related shooting in Lawrenceburg early Tuesday morning. The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office reported one person was killed in the shooting, which investigators said was “loosely domestic related.” One person was taken into custody at a home outside city limits and there is no danger to the public, according to investigators.  The victim’s identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin. A recent study examining the safest states for high school students ranked Tennessee as one of the least safe in the nation.  The report from Scholaroo, a scholarship search platform, measured the safety of high school students in each state based on a number of crime and safety indicators, such as the percentage of students that carried a weapon onto school property.
