A dangerous man now behind bars in Maury County.  Devin Rice is accused of shooting at multiple occupied homes with families inside. The 26-year-old is also accused of firing wildly at pursuing Columbia Police officers.  Rice is also the prime suspect in a brazen convenience store robbery where he allegedly pointed a gun at the clerk and a customer and then later opened fire breaking out windows and shattering glass inside and outside the store.  He is facing a total of 19 charges and is in the Maury County jail under an almost $2 million bond.

There’s a new bill being introduced in the state legislature, and it deals with math and student’s testing scores.  It would look very similar to the third-grade retention law implemented for reading last year, but retaining students wouldn’t be a possibility. Instead, it would require summer school or tutoring for students scoring below the benchmark on their TCAP or universal screener, and it would apply to all K-8 students, not just third grade. Statewide in Tennessee, only about one-third of students tested proficient in math last school year.

Lebanon Police Department is searching for a missing man who has not been in contact with family since September.  Michael Ferrin is 62 years old and 135 pounds.  His family has not been able to contact him since Sept. 23.   If you know his whereabouts call the Lebanon PD. Walgreens Pharmacy employees are reportedly planning walkouts for this week over work conditions.  CNN reported that employees at Walgreens stores across the country will be protesting “harsh working conditions” and “unfair vaccination expectations” during one of the busiest times of the year.
