The Williamson County Emergency Agency is alerting residents after a portion of the Harpeth River has turned red.  The agency responded to the river Tuesday morning for the red color of the river near Forrest Crossing.   A contractor approved by the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) performed a dye test and the dye didn’t dissipate quickly due to low water levels, according to WEMA. There is reportedly no danger to the public, according to WEMA.

Stellantis is recalling nearly 273,000 trucks in the U.S. because the radio software can stop the rear view camera image from being displayed.  The recall announced Tuesday by U.S. safety regulators covers certain Ram 1500 pickup trucks and some Ram 3500 chassis cabs from the 2022 and 2023 model years. Also covered are 2022 through 2024 Ram 2500 trucks. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says a rear view display without an image reduces a driver’s view and increases the risk of a crash.

Cows were rescued on the interstate overnight Tuesday after a semi-truck they were being transported in caught fire on the on-ramp from I-840 to I-65 North. The driver was able to release the cows once the truck caught fire, and no injuries were reported.  Officials say animal control and local ranchers brought fence panels and helped load the cows onto another truck..

Sen. Ferrell Haile (R-Gallatin) says he was told by Homeland Security that when school is in session the investigate as many as five school threats a week.  Currently, it’s a Class-A misdemeanor to make such a threat. Haile has introduced a bill that would add a Class-E felony for a general threat of mass violence and a Class-D felony if that threat is targeted somewhere specific, like a place of worship, school or government building.  The Class-D felony carries between two and 12 years in jail and a potential fine of $5,000 or less.
