A Sumner County student is facing charges and disciplinary action after a gun was found in a backpack yesterday.  Officials say a handgun was recovered by a resource officer at Beech High School following a tip from another student.  No threats were made toward anyone at the building, according to school officials.  Parents were sent an alert about the incident yesterday afternoon.

There are new policies for Clarksville football games after shots were fired there recently. The Clarksville-Montgomery County Schools System says spectators at the games will only be allowed to carry small clear bags. Children in middle school or younger must be accompanied by an adult. There is also no re-entry once you are inside the venue. Officials say there will also be additional law enforcement officers at every game.

The Robertson County Commission recently approved a resolution updating the towers for its emergency radio system.  Most of the funds will be coming from the federal government’s American Rescue Plan Act for the upcoming 2022-23 fiscal year.  The state auditor is requiring the county to put these funds on the books, which will be used for emergency radios, as well as parking lot renovations and other general operating transfers.

Hendersonville is getting a new fire station. The nine-thousand square foot location near Knox Doss Middle School will be a more than five-million-dollar investment and serve more than 1,000 families.
