Clarksville Police had a perimeter on Union Hall Drive and White Oak Drive as officers attempt to negotiate with a barricaded suspect. They say the suspect fired several shots at officers, injuring one. The officer is expected to be OK.
A Middle Tennessee deputy has resigned after authorities say she was involved in a car accident while intoxicated. The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office says Deputy Mia Godinez was involved in a single-vehicle wreck in her personal car early Tuesday morning. She was taken to a local hospital and treated for injuries that are not life threatening.
For the second time in two weeks, authorities worked a firecrackers incident at Lebanon High School. The Wilson County Sheriff’s Office said School Resource Officers heard what sounded like firecrackers ricocheting through the hall and men’s restroom. When SROs went into the restroom, they noticed a smell commonly associated with firecrackers and also found pieces of firecracker wrapping paper on the floor. The student was issued a juvenile citation for unlawful acts in the sale and handling of fireworks and disorderly conduct.
Millersville police said a woman was shot inside the women’s restroom at the Shell gas station on Bethel Road at approximately 8:15 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 14. Authorities reported officers were not notified about the shooting until the following day at 11 a.m. Upon arrival, officers were told the employees who were working the night of the shooting cleaned up the crime scene. Millersville police are searching for the male suspect who is accused of being involved in the shooting. The current condition of the woman remains unknown.
A group of golfers in Massachusetts found their game interrupted when a coyote pup trotted out onto the course to play with the golf balls. A video made by one of the golfers shows the pup chase after a ball, pick it up with its mouth and toss it around like a chew toy.
