The Robertson County Back 2 School Bash will be held at The Center in Springfield on Saturday from 2-6 pm. Towards the end of the event, all visitors will go inside The Center for kids to receive backpacks and school supplies for the upcoming school year.
Ashland City has added four new emergency sirens and will begin monthly testing, to take place on the first Sunday each month at 2 p.m. The testing sound “will be a wavy short alarm, lasting less than a minute. During an actual weather warning the alarm will be a solid sound that lasts much longer.” Residents are asked to keep in mind that the sirens rotate, so they will be louder at times.

The new deal includes higher wages for Teamsters workers, air conditioning in trucks and an agreement to hire 30,000 new drivers.

A gorilla at the Columbus Zoo in Ohio was found holding her new baby girl last week. This surprised zookeepers for two reasons. They didn’t know that the 8-year-old ape named Sully was expecting, and they thought she was male. Gorillas look pretty much the same when they’re younger and males don’t develop their characteristic large size, silver backs and large head bumps until they’re 12 or even later.
