NASCAR making its return has been quite the talker in Nashville. Things would had to change from a small, short track racing facility into NASCAR.  That would mean millions of dollars would need to be spent to renovate the Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway. Citizens Against Racetrack Expansion (CARE) for Nashville and has been against this proposal, while Mayor John Cooper has been fighting to push this deal forward.  Metro Council recently deferred bills related to the proposal.

A months-long investigation into narcotics distribution in Nashville yielded a significant seizure for Metro Nashville Police in East Nashville.  Police collected 940 suspected fentanyl pills, 126 grams of fentanyl powder, 56 grams of fentanyl-laced meth, 1-and-a-half pounds of marijuana, and an AF pistol loaded with 25 rounds, police said. They also found items for packaging narcotics and $1,719 cash. Police say it all belonged to Jarquias Greer, who was given a four-year probated sentence in February for felony heroin possession and evading arrest convictions. He was taken into custody at his Burns Street residence where the items were recovered and is now facing multiple felony drug and gun charges.

The White House Public Library says Eden Denson has completed their 1000 Books before Kindergarten program. The five year old finished reading her 1000 books recently with her parents and received a certificate of completion, a tote bag, a children’s book, and a Café 31 gift card for her hard work.

A homeowner in North Carolina called police about a trespasser in their bathroom that appeared to be at least seven feet long.  Officers cleared the residence, and after a brief standoff the accused trespasser was apprehended removed and relocated outdoors without incident.
