A Clarksville woman was trying to get back home using a taxi, but said she had to jump out of the moving car because she was threatened by the driver.  Caitlen Adkins claimed the instant she got into the car, she said things took a turn.  The jump out of the car lead to 36 injuries and a month in the hospital.  As the Christian County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate what led up to Adkins jumping out of the car, a community fundraiser is set for next Friday at Slyms BBQ in Bon Aqua from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. to collect money to help pay for her hospital bills.

Just over 32 months after being charged with the murders of his grandparents in Warren County, a man appeared in court to be sentenced on Wednesday.   19-year-old then and 22-year-old now Joshua L. Wright was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for 25 years

Two Rutherford County Schools students were selected to perform at Sydney Opera House for the High School Honors Performance Series. Participation in the Honors Ensembles is for the highest-rated young performers from across the world. The two students, Aubry Redhair and Elexis Thepthongsay, will be making their way to Australia this August.

The Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency’s (TWRA) “Operation Dry Water” led to 23 citations for boating under the influence over a three-day period. rom July 1-3, which were the official dates for the program. Over the entire Independence Day weekend, 31 citations were handed out. The TWRA did report that there were no boating related fatalities over the holiday period. The penalties for BUIs can include fines, jail time, or the loss of boat driving privileges.
