The Austin Peay State University Board of Trustees has voted to adopt a combined 3% increase in undergraduate tuition and mandatory fees beginning in the Fall 2023 semester. The Trustees say revenue derived from the increase will partly offset the effective economic inflation rate of 10.5% since the last tuition increase in June 2021. The 3% rate is within the range approved by the Tennessee Higher Education Commission earlier this year.
The upcoming season for the Robertson County Players begins with a production of the classic Broadway musical “Once Upon a Mattress.” Performances are in the Innovation Academy of Robertson County auditorium in Springfield on today and tomorrow and next Friday and Saturday at 7PM. Seeds of Hope: Tour of Gardens, a new fundraising event created by the local nonprofit foundation Martha’s Song, will take place this Saturday from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. showcasing many of the unique gardens across Robertson County. Tickets for Seeds of Hope are $25, with free admission for kids 12 and under. All proceeds benefit Martha’s Song Foundation. Tickets can be purchased online at Eventbrite.
One Generation Away is bringing its Mobile Pantry back to Ashland City for anyone who would like to receive a free load of groceries. They’ll set up in the parking lot of Cheatham Middle School for the drive-thru event this Saturday sharing bags of food with no questions asked, no paperwork needed. The organization will begin giving out food at 8:30 a.m., but folks are encouraged to arrive early, as the food is first come, first served.
Mercedes-Benz has added ChatGPT to its vehicles. The AI answers a driver’s complex questions and has natural conversations. The feature is available to 900 thousand customers who have the Mercedes-Benz infotainment system and will run for three months.
