Tennesseans are getting ready to reel in a catch. Tennessee’s 2023 Bobby Wilson Free Fishing Day and week kicks off on Saturday. More information can be found online on the Tennessee Wildlife Resources agency website.
Several groups are filing for an appeal of the decision allowing Covenant School parents to offer testimony during hearings over the release of shooter Audrey Hale’s writings. Parties including the Tennessee Firearms Association and the Tennessean newspaper are asking an appellate court to review the Nashville judge’s ruling. The request also includes a motion to delay hearings on the document release until the appeal is resolved. That likely means discussion on the stay motion will happen Thursday, with the previously-planned show cause hearing now tentatively scheduled for June 16th.
Those who need help from authorities in Williamson County can now send a text to 911. Emergency management officials say all a user needs to do is type in 911 as the recipient number and the phone network will send it to the dispatch center closest to the cell tower they are connected to. The option is helpful for people who are speech or hearing impaired, and could be a lifesaver for someone who is in a situation where it is dangerous to speak. The feature has been available in the Nashville Metro area and Wilson County for some time.
