Students on board Robertson County school buses now have access to Wi-Fi.  District officials say a half-million-dollar grant from the Federal Communications Commission has covered the installation of wireless internet systems on 125 of the vehicles.  Robertson County Schools Technology Supervisor James Marshall says some students have long bus rides and the connections allow them to work on class assignments as they travel home.  He says the district is also planning to add a Wi-Fi-enabled bookmobile that can travel to rural parts of the county over the summer.

Eight puppies are safe after being abandoned on the side of the road in Lebanon.  The city’s police department is asking for information about who left the pups stranded and is also asking for members of the community to come forward and give them each a home.  Officials say the dogs were found near Hartman Drive and were covered in ticks.  They have since received medical care and are ready to find a family.  Anyone interested in adopting one should call the Lebanon Police Department.

A former Tennessee state senator is trying to change his guilty plea in his ongoing fraud case.  Republican Brian Kelsey pleaded guilty back in November to accusations of conspiracy to defraud the Federal Election Commission and violating campaign finance laws.  The accusations came in connection with his 2016 campaign for U.S. Congress.  Kelsey yesterday tried to withdraw his guilty plea in court, but the judge denied his request.  He is set for sentencing in July and a conviction would land him up to five years behind bars on each count.
