A blood drive is underway across Tennessee this week. It’s being hosted by the Red Cross in partnership with the Nashville Predators Foundation. Officials say blood donations drop when the summer months arrive due to people traveling. Clarksville Fire Rescue fought a commercial structure fire in the 1300 block of College Street in the pre-dawn hours of Monday. Clarksville Fire Rescue officials said heavy damage was caused to the facility. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The Tennessee Highway Safety Office is encouraging state residents to participate in a short survey. Officials say they are gathering public feedback on the effectiveness of traffic safety efforts. Scratch this off your bucket list: The Nashville Superspeedway is offering drivers a chance to take their own cars on the track as part of an upcoming charity fundraiser. Individuals can run their vehicle for three paced laps in exchange for a 75-dollar donation. Those who participate will also be able to download a photo of their car in victory lane. For the first time in over four weeks, the state gas price average is trending lower. Gas prices across Tennessee fell seven cents, on average, over last week. The Tennessee Gas Price average is now $3.31 which is 17 cents more expensive than one month ago but 54 cents less than one year ago.
