The Clarksville Police Department has seen murders drop over the last five years. The department has also had a high success rate when it comes to solving these murders.  Over the past decade, there have been 156 homicides in Clarksville. Of those, police have been able to solve 143 of them, which is roughly 92%.  According to the Murder Accountability Project, that solve rate trumps the national average solve rate, well as Tennessee’s average solve rate, based on the most recent FBI data available.

Robertson County Golfers had their eyes glued to their TVs this weekend watching golf from Augusta.  Jon Rahm is this year’s winner at The Masters.  The Spaniard secured the green jacket at Augusta National Sunday, finishing 12-under par.  The field didn’t include Tiger Woods on the final day after the five-time Masters winner pulled out of the tournament due to injury.

Local anglophiles take note:  King Charles the Third will be coronated as monarch of the United Kingdom in less than a month.  Buckingham Palace announced Sunday that the official ceremony for Charles and Queen Consort Camilla is set to start at six a.m. at Westminster Abbey on May 6th.

A new poll shows Americans are more and more worried about drug use and affordable health care. A Gallup survey shows the number of Americans who worry “a great deal” about drugs is up 8 percentage points since last year, now 46 percent. The number of respondents who said they’re concerned about the affordability and availability of health care is up 5 percentage points to 54 percent. The economy and inflation still sit at the top of Americans’ biggest concerns.

If tax season is stressing you out, one expert is sharing tips on how to bring that anxiety under control.  Mark Steber [ [ STEEB-urr ] ] with Jackson-Hewitt says one way to ease the pain is to seek the help of a tax professional.  Another important step is to be organized. Steber says you should have all of your receipts, forms and IRS notices ready to go well in advance of the filing deadline to avoid any last-minute scrambling.
