The Robertson County Historical Society is gearing up for “The Last Days of Frank & Jesse James Festival” Aug. 27th. An old, Wild West bank robbery reenactment on the Springfield courthouse square is the highlight of the event. The festival, which is in its second year, celebrates the 36th Anniversary of the 1986 film, The Last Days of Frank & Jesse James, in which several scenes were “filmed in and around the Robertson County Courthouse and Orlinda.
The White House Area Chamber of Commerce, and the White House City Fire Department have a brand-new mural on the side of the department’s Station No. 1. Well-known characteristics of the town are featured within each letter of the mural, from the smoking tobacco farm and water tower to the White House Inn Museum and both of the city’s local high schools.
Officials are identifying a body discovered in Wilson County as a missing Murfreesboro woman. Authorities say remains belonging to 22-year-old Mya Fuller were found in a wooded area near Watertown on August sixth. Fuller was last seen by family members on July 29th and at an event while working at Geodis Park the following day. Anyone with information on her disappearance is asked to contact the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office.
