A White House man is facing charges related to child sexual abuse. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation reports 59-year-old James Butterworth was taken into custody earlier this month following an online tip. TBI says the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children informed law enforcement that material depicting abuse was uploaded online, leading to the investigation. Butterworth has been indicted on three counts of aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor. He was taken to the Sumner County Jail and is now released on bond.
IKEA is recalling thousands of wall mirrors due to a risk of injury. The company says the plastic fittings on all sizes of their LETTAN model mirrors can break, causing them to fall off of walls, posing a risk of cuts and lacerations. Around 22-thousand units were sold in U.S. stores and online from December of 2019 to this past October. Owners are urged to stop using the mirrors immediately, contact the company’s customer service department for replacement fittings, or return them to an IKEA store for full refund.
A Connecticut man is being accused of making threats against a Tennessee library. Police last night announced the arrest of 49-year-old Mark Frankl, which happened around a thousand miles from the Hendersonville Public Library in his home state. Frankl allegedly made multiple threats against the library, with investigators believing he sent at least 14 threatening emails which included references of death and blowing up the building. He is being detained in Connecticut but is set for extradition to Sumner County.
