Extra law enforcement was at Liberty Elementary School in Montgomery County Wednesday morning after a police pursuit. No students were in danger and authorities say it was out of an abundance of caution after deputies were pursing a reckless driver. It ended with a man running from the suspected vehicle near the elementary school, he’s still on the loose. Another person in the car was detained and the investigation continues.

Three people wanted in Hendersonville are in custody in Indiana.  Katherinne Castro, Javiera Solis, and Nelson Contreras are accused of taking a person’s wallet from a store last month and making charges on their credit cards.  Investigators say they found the three were recently arrested in Indiana on similar charges.  Local officials are seeking to extradite the suspects back to Tennessee.

A bill filed in Nashville would let college students carry guns on campuses across Tennessee.  The bill was filed by Republican lawmakers and would amend a Tennessee law which prevents most people from carrying guns on school campuses by making an exception for public and private colleges.  Students would have to get a permit after going through training.  Democrat Senator Heidi Campbell is against the bill, hypothetically asking “how many kids… have to die before we realize that guns do not make us safer?”

State Senator Jon Lundberg wants TikTok banned from state colleges and universities. The Republican proposed a law that would prohibit networks on campuses across Tennessee from providing access to the social media site. It would also include any other video platforms owned by a company based outside of the U.S.

More women are dying during childbirth in the U.S.  A new report from the World Health Organization found that maternal mortality rates in the U.S. have jumped 75 percent over the past two decades.  The report suggests part of the spike is from women having less access to quality healthcare during pregnancy.

More companies are shifting from a five day week to four.  Crowdfunding platform “Kickstarter” went from five to four days last year, hoping to offer a better work-life balance and retain valuable employees.  The company says productivity surprisingly increased with employees better rested and more engaged.  Similar findings came from a large study involving over 60 British companies who did the same thing — banks, non-profits, even fast food restaurants.  Ninety-two percent say they’re sticking with four days as company revenue actually increased by 35 percent on average.
