A Portland couple is home with their newborn baby boy thanks to the quick work of first responders.  Kelli and Richard Simpson say their friend and Portland Fire Captain Isaac Reynolds is among the emergency workers who helped deliver their new son, Jack, in their garage last Friday.  Kelli says she knew she would not be able to make it to the hospital before Jack arrived, giving birth soon after she got to the stretcher.  The baby is a healthy six pounds and ten ounces despite arriving several weeks early.

The National Weather Service radio alert transmitter in Nashville is shut down for repairs.  The organizations say crews have been working to address a problem with the system for several days and hope to it have it back on the air today.  The transmitter sends information to weather radios across the majority of counties in Middle Tennessee.

 Tennessee residents are choosing seeking therapy as their most popular New Year’s resolution.  That’s according to data collected by online recruitment and job insights firm, Zippia.  The site considered google search information in compiling the results, with the Volunteer State joining eleven others in selecting therapy as most popular.  Other self-improvement plans include weight loss, getting better sleep, and finding a new job.

The Titans community is sharing support for Buffalo Bills Safety Damar Hamlin.  The 24-year-old Pennsylvania native is in critical condition after collapsing on the field while suffering a cardiac arrest in the first quarter of last night’s Monday Night Football matchup.  Tennessee QB Ryan Tannehill posted his thoughts on Twitter, saying he is praying for Hamlin, his family, and everyone in Buffalo.  The Titans organization also tweeted in support, joining scores of other players, coaches, and team officials across the NFL.

Gas prices are up another penny.  The national average price for regular is up to three-22 a gallon, 12 cents higher than a week ago.  Georgia is holding down its spot as the low-price leader with a statewide average of two-77 a gallon.
