Police in Clarksville say a missing woman has been found dead.  Authorities report 28-year-old Savannah Gilliam was discovered deceased in the driver’s seat of her vehicle by a CPD officer around 1:00 a.m. Thursday.  Gilliam’s mother reported her missing on December eleventh, telling officials she had not spoken to her for weeks.  Investigators are still looking into the incident, but say they do not currently suspect foul play.

Clarksville police are hosting a food drive for families in need next week.  Members of the department’s Juvenile Engagement Team are handing out grab-and-go bags on Tuesday so kids who are out of school on their winter break still have plenty to eat.  Donations of non-perishable items are being accepted at the Clarksville-Montgomery County Library.  Police are also looking for additional volunteers to help fill and distribute bags.

White House High School has created the Crossroads Scholarship, formed by the family of Odell and Esterlene Starks, two lifelong residents of the White House community.  The scholarship will both serve as a means to further solidify the Starks’ legacy while supporting the future aspirations of students at White House.  Anyone looking for additional information can follow “The Crossroads Scholarship for White House High School” Facebook page.

The United Way of Robertson County is once again looking for volunteers to provide free tax preparation for low to moderate income taxpayers as part of the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) free tax prep program.   IRS-training options begin in December and continue through January. Volunteers can choose their site location and register for training based on their desired volunteer role. Tax prep is set to begin in late January.

The FDA says there’s a nationwide shortage of amoxicillin.  The popular antibiotic is used to treat sore throats, earaches and other ailments, and is in high demand due to respiratory viruses in the U.S.  Officials says part of the problem is that drug companies rely on other countries to get many of their ingredients, and have been facing supply chain issues.
