A 17-year-old faces charges after a shooting in Clarksville.  Officers responded to the incident on Cinderella Lane around 9:40 a.m. yesterday morning where they found a 21-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the head.  He was rushed to the hospital and his status is unknown.  The teenage suspect was later taken into custody.  Anyone with information about the incident is asked to come forward.

Metro Police say a missing Mount Juliet man is dead; his body discovered in Nashville.  The report came one day after the Mount Juliet Police Department asked for help from public in locating 29-year-old John Swoboda.  Detectives say he left his Triple Crown neighborhood home last Wednesday without his ID, cash, cell phone, or any extra clothing.  Nashville investigators are looking into the incident.  Details on Swoboda’s manner of death have not yet been released.

A Hermitage family is reeling from the sudden death of a six-year-old due to meningitis.  Family members say Amora Dill passed away Friday, having first gotten sick only a week ago.  Meningitis is the inflammation of the nervous system membrane, with doctors telling the girl’s family a sudden incident like hers is rare.  Loved ones say they have received plenty of support from a GoFundMe set up for them, asking that any further donations be made to organizations that invest in meningitis research.

CVS and Walgreens are agreeing to pay a combined ten-point-seven-billion-dollars in a settlement over allegations they failed to adequately oversee opioid painkiller prescriptions.  The funds will be distributed between states, local governments and federally recognized tribes.  Money will also go toward opioid crisis abatement and remediation programs. .

Winter Wonderland is at J. Travis Price Park through Dec. 23. You can drive-through each night from 5:30-9 or walk through Dec. 16-17. Those nights will also feature a live petting zoo, food trucks, and a chance for kids to meet Santa, all at no charge.
