State health officials are preparing for an increase of flu activity following the Thanksgiving holiday.  The CDC has already named Tennessee as one of the top three states for flu cases.  Their data shows the most cases being reported in Nashville, Franklin, Murfreesboro, and Memphis.

Tennessee students and their families considering potential colleges may want to take note of results from WalletHub’s latest survey.  The consumer advice site looked at more than 400 U.S. communities in putting together their ranking of 2023’s Best College Towns and Cities in America.  A number of varying factors were weighed including the availability of a quality higher education, housing costs and the availability of part-time jobs.  Two Tennessee cities placed in the Top 100 on the list with Knoxville at 49 and Nashville at 78.  Austin, Texas topped the list at number one.

Clarksville police say one person is hospitalized following a pedestrian accident Monday.  The crash was reported just after 5:30 p.m. in the 16-hundred block of Fort Campbell Boulevard.  The injured individual was airlifted to a Nashville hospital, with no further details on the extent of their injuries released so far.  Investigators are asking anyone who may have video of the crash to contact the Clarksville Police Department.

An organization is working toward the release of Tennessee license plates that honor fallen police officers.  The Middle and East Tennessee Chapter of Concerns of Police Survivors has submitted a plate design recognizing loved ones who have been killed in the line of duty.  State leaders recently passed legislation allowing for the specialty plates, but one-thousand must be preordered by the end of next June before they go into production.  Search middle-and-east-T-N-cops-dot-org for additional information.
