A deputy in nearby Wilson County is recovering after allegedly being shot. The incident took place overnight in Lebanon on Eastover Road. Officials have not released information about the suspect other than the fact he is male. More information is expected to be released as the day progresses.

Triple A is once again helping keep Middle Tennessee roads safe for the upcoming holiday. The company is offering their emergency “Tow To Go” service from 6:00 p.m. this evening through 6:00 a.m. Monday. Triple A tow truck drivers will transport an impaired motorist and their vehicle home safely, within a ten-mile radius. Travel club officials say the service is meant as a last resort, and not an excuse to avoid planning for a designated driver.

Long-time Portland basketball coach and former White House Middle School principal Carl Fussel is dead. He was inducted into the Portland High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 2017, and five girls he coached have also been inducted into the school’s athletic hall. In 1980, Fussell moved into school administration and became principal at White House Middle School. One of his accomplishments while in that role was to petition the TSSAA to include middle schools under its governing umbrella, something that came to fruition in 1986. Carl Fussell died after a short illness. He was 89.

The Cedar Hill Family and Community Education Club is asking for help in giving children of Robertson County a Christmas. Choose an angel from a tree on display at the Gallery Hair Design, the Bank of America or the Robertson County Historical Museum and provide gifts for them. Unwrapped gifts should be returned to the place you got your angel by Dec. 6th. Please include wrapping paper, tags, and bows.
