The Robertson County Sheriff’s Office has purchased Automated External Defibrillators to be placed in Sheriff’s Office vehicles. The new equipment will bridge the gap when Deputies encounter a citizen experiencing a cardiac medical emergency until medical teams arrive.

A Greenbrier home is still standing despite home’s kitchen bursting into flames Wednesday night. The Greenbrier Fire Department was on scene within minutes and quickly extinguished the fblaze. According to Greenbrier Fire Chief Kyle Hamill, the preliminary cause appears to be linked to space heaters.

According to a statement from the city of Adams, former Mayor Charles Rust is dead. He was a Commissioner for the city of Adams from May 1963 to June 1989 and served as Mayor for two years from July 1987 to June 1989. Charles Rust was 88.

Tennessee’s senior U.S. Senator is against the impeachment of President Trump.  Republican Marsha Blackburn said yesterday that impeaching Trump now with just days left in office only serves to further divide the country and exacerbate tensions.  Instead, Senator Blackburn called on Congress to work on a bipartisan basis to restore the confidence of the American people in the nation’s elections.  Trump is the first president in U.S. history to be impeached twice.

A Montgomery County woman convicted of killing her son is granted a new trial.  The Tennessee Court of Appeals has ruled that Caitlyn Metz was denied effective assistance of counsel when she was convicted of killing her 23-month-old son in 2009.  The decision was handed down last week and cites the defense’s failure to present witnesses and said there was cumulative error in the defense presentation.

Tennessee ranks fifth in overall cost of smoking.  Finance website WalletHub estimates that in a lifetime the total cost for a smoker in Tennessee, including lost income, is over one-point-seven-million dollars.  For long-term smokers, lost income is estimated at just under 485-thousand-dollars in a lifetime.
