Minutes after picking up his newly purchased RV the owner pulled into the Shell station on the corner of Central Ave and 5th Ave in Springfield to fill up – and the RV burst into flames just feet from the pump. The Springfield Fire Department responded quickly and prevented the fire from igniting the gas pumps or the large awning above. The owner said he insured the vehicle yesterday before coming up to collect it.

A Greenbrier man is dead in a tragic Sunday afternoon accident.  He was struck by a tree during a trimming or removal process off Meador Rd near Lights Chapel Rd and sustained serious injuries. First responders with Greenbrier Fire and Robertson County EMS made every effort to save him, but 53-year-old James Spain Jr, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Phase 1C of Tennessee’s COVID-19 vaccination plan is starting.  As of today, those 16-years-old and older with serious medical issues and pregnant women can register for a vaccination appointment.  Caregivers of those with high-risk medical conditions are also eligible.  It’s estimated there are more than one-million Tennesseans included.

The Tennessee Department of Health reported one-thousand-278 new COVID-19 cases yesterday, bringing the total since the outbreak began to  783-thousand-500.  An additional four COVID-19-related deaths were reported, bringing the total number of coronavirus-attributed deaths statewide to eleven-thousand-550.  There are fewer than 750 COVID-19 patients hospitalized statewide. Robertson County has had 9,016 reported cases of COVID019 since the pandemic started. 8,735 of the cases have recovered and 121 have dies from COVID-19 in Robertson County. Health officials recommend you wear a mask, maintain a safe social distance, and keep  washing your hands.
