March is Keep Tennessee Beautiful Month.  The 15-year-old event encourages Tennesseans to go outside to exercise while picking up trash.  The event has been given the name “Trashercise.”  It originated in Leiper’s Fork.

If you are beginning yard Cleanup on your Property as part of Keep Tennessee Beautiful Month, the Tennessee Department of Agriculture’s Division of Forestry is reminding citizens that if they plan to burn outdoors, a burn permit is required through May 15 in Robertson on most other counties. Permits for leaf and brush piles of any size are available online at no charge. For broadcast burning, such as forestry, agricultural, and land clearing, call your local Division of Forestry burn permit phone number Mon. through Fri., 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. The online system for permits and phone numbers can be found at BurnSafeTN.org.

Sumner Regional Medical Center is getting some national recognition.  Newsweek and a partner have named the facility one of the best maternity care hospitals in the country.  Sumner Regional Medical Center is on a list of 225 medical centers that have provided exceptional care to mothers, newborns and their families.  The facility says it’s proud of its women’s services care team and the earned designation from The Leapfrog Group as a Best Maternity Hospital.

Minor League Baseball fans in Robertson County are going to have wait a bt longer for the peanuts and Crackerjack. The season for the Nashville Sounds is being delayed.  Major League Baseball Professional Development Leagues says the 2021 Triple-A championship season is being delayed until Tuesday, May 4th.  The Sounds will play their season opener in Toledo against the Mud Hens with Nashville’s home opener scheduled to be played on Tuesday, May 11th against the Memphis Redbirds.  Health and safety reasons were cited for the delay.

The Robertson County Health Department will be moving its current vaccination operations at the Robertson County Fairgrounds to Volstate at Highland Crest on Laureate Ave. Operation hours for the vaccination site are Monday-Friday 12:30pm-3:30pm and Saturdays 9:00am-11:30am.
