The Tennessee Department of Health reported one-thousand-777 new COVID-19 cases yesterday, bringing the total since the outbreak began to nearly 717-thousand.  More than 100 additional COVID-19-related deaths were reported, bringing the death count to more than 94-hundred.  Some 18-hundred COVID-19 patients are hospitalized statewide.. Robertson County has had 7,997 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began. 7,491 have recovered and 90 have died from COVID19 in Robertson County.

The Tennessee Department of Health is adding over 100 new COVID-19 vaccination sites.  Tennessee Health Commissioner Dr. Lisa Piercey said yesterday TDH is working with pharmacies and clinics across the state to open sites in rural and underserved areas.  The TDH says its vaccination plan is focused on equity to provide those with little access to healthcare an opportunity to receive the vaccine.

Governor Bill Lee is lifting restrictions on attendance at high school sports.  Governor Lee said yesterday he’s suspending Executive Order 74 as of Monday, February 1st.  Lee’s executive orders had prevented cheerleaders and students from attending indoor sports.  Lee says the guidance and rules of local education agencies and the TSSAA will remain in place.

The Tennessee Department of Labor is offering some answers about taxes on unemployment benefits.  Anyone receiving unemployment benefits last year should receive a 1099-G tax form the state.  Unemployment insurance payments are taxable.  More information is posted on the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development website.

The Mid-Cumberland Community Action Agency will be hosting a 2-day FREE food giveaway event in Robertson County set for Wednesday, February 3rd  and Thursday, February 4th from 9 am to 3 pm at Travis Price Park. The food is available for any Robertson County resident in need.
