A Greenbrier woman is accused of stealing a vehicle that was left running and unlocked outside of a Gallatin market last month. The green 2003 Kia Soul was found the following day outside Bass Pro Shops at Opry Mills Mall by Metro Police who say 26-year-old Hailee Ridgway was identified as the driver. Ridgway was arrested and charged with theft. She is scheduled to appear in Sumner County General Sessions Court on Jan. 6th.
A Greenbrier man is dead in an early Sunday morning single-vehicle crash on Hwy 41 just outside Robertson County. Police say 43-year-old David Blackwellwas heading north on Springfield Highway when he entered a slight curve, left the roadway and struck a wooden fence. 39-year-old Crystal Blackwell was rushed to Vanderbilt Medical Center with critical injuries. There was no evidence of drug or alcohol involvement at the scene.
AT&T is still experiencing Internet, phone and 911 service outages following the explosion of an RV on Second Avenue in Downtown Nashville. The Christmas morning blast outside an AT&T transmission hub knocked out service from Southern Kentucky to Alabama. Yesterday, AT&T said 96 percent of its wireless network, 60 percent of its business service and 86 percent of its consumer broadband has been restored. AT&T said restoration of the network has been difficult due to the active crime scene.
COVID-19 vaccinations are starting at long-term care facilities across Tennessee today. The vaccinations will be given through pharmacy partners. As of last Friday, nearly 18-hundred people living in long-term care facilities have died of coronavirus-related issues. Over 14-thousand have tested positive for the virus.
Tennessee lawmakers are asking President Trump to approve Governor Bill Lee’s request for an emergency declaration for the state of Tennessee. They say an emergency declaration would allow federal resources to help deal with the impact of the explosion of an RV on Second Avenue in Downtown Nashville Christmas morning. Governor Lee’s request states Tennessee spent over 175-million managing response and recovery activities from February of 2019 to December of this year without requesting assistance.
