Springfield High School and Springfield Middle School has transitioned from a classroom instruction to a 100 percent virtual instruction model until Dec. 18, which is the final day of the first semester for the 2020-2021 school year.   This change is necessary due to an increase in the number of COVID19 cases among students and staff in both schools. Students will receive instruction via Microsoft TEAMS each day and will be under their teacher’s direct instruction.  Attendance will still be taken and recorded just as if each student were attending in person. Teachers who are not quarantined or isolated will be in their classroom and conducting daily lessons through virtual media.

The Robertson County Cold Weather shelter is now open.  My Father’s House operates through March 31st and is open on nights when the temperature drops to 40 or below.  It’s not just for the homeless. It’s available for anyone who needs a warm place to sleep and a hot meal. Several local churches have come together to make this ministry possible. Sign in from 5-7 pm and stay overnight until 7 am at 211 W. 1st Ave in Springfield.

The reward for information about the killer of a Nashville nurse is growing.  The reward about Caitlyn Kaufman’s killer is up to 16-thousand dollars.  A second anonymous person contributed five-thousand dollars yesterday after another donor previously offered ten-thousand dollars on top of the usual one-thousand dollars provided by Crime Stoppers.  Kaufman was driving to work at St. Thomas West Hospital last Thursday evening when she was shot.  At least six shots were fired at her SUV while traveling on I-440.
