One business is booming during the pandemic. The Robertson County Sheriff’s office says they are seeing an increase in reports of packages stolen by Porch Pirates.  If you are away from home during the day consider having a neighbor accept your packages or have them delivered to work or to a friend who is home more.

Governor Bill Lee says COVID-19 vaccines will be coming to Tennessee “within weeks.”  Governor Lee said yesterday that the effort to get the vaccines “is changing every minute.”  Lee said the information he’s getting from the federal government is changing all the time.  He called information about the quantities and dates of distribution “very fluid.”

Tennessee remains in the red zone in a weekly report prepared for the White House by its Coronavirus Task Force.  The report says 81 of Tennessee’s 95 counties are in the red zone for infection and positivity rates.  The report says Tennessee has the 17th highest positivity rate in the nation.  It also says the state needs to implement public health orders to force Tennesseans to follow guidance that will help slow the spread of the virus.

Free professional mental health support is now available to teachers and educators.  The Department of Education’s emotional support hotline has opened for the state’s teachers.  The hotline provides confidential support for first responders and now teachers experiencing the anxiety and stress of the COVID-19 pandemic.  More information is posted on the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services website.
