The City of Springfield Christmas Parade is set for November 23^rd, the Saturday before Thanksgiving. This year the parade will take place in the evening with lighted floats. It will start at 6:00PM and proceed down Main St to 5th down to the Springfield Middle School

The Tennessee Department of Health reported five-thousand-817 new cases yesterday, bringing the total since the outbreak began to nearly 311-thousand.  More than a dozen new coronavirus-related deaths were reported.  Close to 39-hundred deaths have been attributed to COVID-19 since the outbreak began. In Robertson County, there have been 3,045 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began. 2,717 have recovered and 46 have died from COVID-19 in Robertson County.

Tennessee wants to prevent a “twindemic” of flu and COVID-19.  To help prevent that, the state is offering free flu shots across Tennessee.  The Tennessee Department of Health says the free flu shots will be offered at the Robertson County Health Department Thursday,.  No appointments are needed.

A memorial was held for a fallen deputy from Cheatham County. Deputy Stephen Reece was killed in a crash on Highway 41 last year. On Sunday, he was honored at the Cheatham County Sheriff’s Office in Ashland City where  they took donations for the Cheatham Animal Awareness foundation, a cause Deputy Reece has supported.

Former Republican Governor Bill Haslam is commenting on the presidential election.  Haslam issued statements last week saying President Trump needs to give Joe Biden’s team full access to national security information and the transition support of the federal government.  Haslam also said Trump deserves to make sure that all votes are counted and done so correctly.  Haslam is a member of a national bipartisan council.     

The Tennessee Highway Patrol is conducting Sobriety Checkpoints  the week of November 27^th, on US Highway 41 at the Greenbrier City Limits and the  Lights Chapel Road area in Robertson County from 11 pm to 1 am.
