The Tennessee Highway Patrol is conducting a Sobriety Checkpoints the week of November 27th, on US Highway 41 at the Greenbrier City Limits and Lights Chapel Road area in Robertson County from 11 pm to 1 am. Standard protocol at a police checkpoint is to collect the person’s name and ID which is run for wants and warrants. If you don’t have a valid license you will likely be cited. If stopped at a sobriety check, police may also determine that there is “probable cause” to search a vehicle. That could lead to finding illegal drugs or weapons
NorthCrest Medical Center in Springfield says they are exploring the possibility of joining TriStar Health, an affiliate of HCA Healthcare. The two organizations have reportedly signed a non-binding Letter of Intent which allows both parties to evaluate a potential transaction whereby NorthCrest Health would join the TriStar Health family. Governor Bill Lee says he hopes the money can be found to give Tennessee’s teachers a pay raise next year. Governor Lee made the announcement yesterday during 2021 budget discussions. Lee said he’s hopeful there will be an opportunity for a meaningful pay increase for teachers. While Lee has asked for departments to cut 12-percent of their budgets, he says he’s looking at ways to improve education in Tennessee.
Robertson County UT fans are facing disappointment. UT’s game against Texas A-and-M set for Saturday at Neyland Stadium is being postponed. The SEC says positive coronavirus tests, contact tracing and quarantining within the Aggies program is the cause of the postponement. The game has tentatively been rescheduled for Saturday, December 12th. The game is one of three SEC games being postponed this weekend over coronavirus concerns. Stay healthy.
