A report prepared for the White House Coronavirus Task Force says Tennessee is in the “Red Zone.”  The report dated November 1st urges Tennesseans to stop gatherings beyond their immediate households.  Tennessee is ranked 16th among states based on their rates of new cases per population and 14th among Red Zone states for test positivity with more than ten percent of diagnostic tests being positive.  The report ranks Tennessee fifth for COVID-19-related deaths.

The Christmas movie filmed in Springfield is set to premiere on Lifetime this week.  Called “A Welcome Home Christmas” the movie will premiere at 7 PM, Saturday, Nov. 7, and will air again on Nov. 11 for Veteran’s Day.  Filming locations were generally around Springfield Historic Square as well as the Robertson County Airport. . The city set up Christmas decorations and lights to help make it seem like Christmas even though it was really August and 90 degrees.

New jobless data shows initial unemployment claims declined a bit statewide.  Just under seven-thousand first-time claims were filed for the week ending October 31st.  That’s about 800 fewer initial claims in the state than the week prior.  Shelby County leads the state with the most new claims at 12-hundred and the most continued claims with 19-thousand.

The vandalism and burglary of six post offices in Middle Tennessee is being investigated.  The post offices were burglarized outside of normal business hours between Sunday November 1st and Monday, November 2nd.  Investigators are working to determine if anything was taken from the post offices.  The burglaries happened at post offices in Nashville, LaVergne, Madison, Hermitage and Mount Juliet.
