A multi-axle grease tanker left the roadway and overturned near Cross Plains yesterday morning injuring the driver.  Cross Plains Fire Chief Tommy Jackson said tanker was not fully loaded and created minimal hazards at the crash site. The driver was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. The cause of the crash is under investigation

Be careful out there: The National Weather Service says there have already been 20 tornadoes in the Mid-State so far this year.  That’s more than the annual average for Middle Tennessee.  The average for the area is 17 tornadoes a year.  March through May is historically the height of severe weather season.

The Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency is encouraging safety ahead of the summer boating season.  The TWRA says there were over 30 boating-related deaths in Tennessee last year.  That’s the most on Tennessee waters in nearly 40 years.  Just eight deaths were reported in 2019.

Predators fans are preparing to party.  A Preds Party in the Park will be held during this weekend’s Stanley Cup Playoff games.  The viewing parties will be held at Music City Walk of Fame Park for tonight’s Game Three and Sunday afternoon’s Game Four of Nashville’s round one series against the Carolina Hurricanes.  The parties are free and will include large screens, food and drinks.

The Robertson County Senior Center says if you are doing some spring cleaning and or planning a yard sale, please consider donating items to their annual indoor rummage sale fundraiser. They are on the lookout for pre-loved baby and children’s clothes, toys, books, household items, Holiday decorations, small appliances and accessories but don’t have the manpower to move heavy items. Donations may be dropped off Monday, May 24th – Wednesday, May 26th from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.

June 12th will be observed as Women’s Veterans Day in Tennessee.  Governor Bill Lee signed a bill yesterday that will honor female veterans on that day annually.  The legislation received unanimous support in the Tennessee House earlier this year.  Women make up about ten percent of the state’s military veterans.

After 65 years of marriage, a Joelton, Tennessee couple is now spending eternity together. Charley Ray and Martha Jean Harris both ended up in the hospital for different reasons and just minutes apart, they both peacefully passed away while holding hands.
