Police in Greenbrier are currently investigating three separate crime scenes following a shooting that left two people injured. The incident started around 10:00 last night when police called to Ridgewood Apartment Complex in Greenbrier to investigate a shooting with two victims. On the way, officers spotted a suspect vehicle with a 25-year-old shooting victim inside who was rushed to the hospital. The second shooting victim was found at a Cottontown address amd was transported to an area hospital by Sumner County EMS. Police say a “person of interest” is being interviewed but it is still early in the investigation.

Tennessee’s senior Senator says the state is making great strides towards recovering from COVID-19.  Senator Marsha Blackburn tweeted yesterday that over half-a-million Tennesseans have received their first dose of the vaccine.  She also said that one-third of Tennesseans over 70 have been vaccinated.  Senator Blackburn added that Tennessee has seen a 50-percent reduction in COVID hospitalizations since last month.

The Tennessee Department of Health reported two-thousand-387 new COVID-19 cases yesterday, bringing the total since the outbreak began to 744-thousand-600.  Half-a-dozen additional COVID-19-related deaths were reported, bringing the total number of coronavirus-attributed deaths statewide to nearly ten-thousand-470.  More than 13-hundred COVID-19 patients are hospitalized statewide. To date, Robertson County has logged 8,272 cases of COVId-19 since the pandemic began. 7,813 have recovered and 108 have died from COVID-19 in Robertson County.

The 107th president of the American Correctional Association is a Tennessean.  Tennessee Department of Correction Commissioner Tony Parker was sworn in on Saturday.
