A fiery crash on Hwy 76 and Oakland Rd just outside Springfield claimed one life early Sunday. The call initially went out as “something on fire in the woods.” First responders found a vehicle had left the roadway, crashed, and ignited in the woods. The location of the crash caused some problems, forcing first responders to drive through a field to access the scene.
The Pilot Company is hosting a National Hiring Day event. The event is scheduled for April 27th as Pilot looks to fill five-thousand positions nationwide. Over 200 of those positions will be available in Tennessee. More information about the event is posted on the Pilot Flying J website.
Two churches are among five Tennessee properties named to the National Register of Historic Places. Named to the list was Laurel Springs Primitive Baptist Church in the Cocke County community of Cosby, Christ Church Episcopal in Chattanooga, Lonesome, a log home built in 1820 in the Dickson County town of Burns, and the Missouri Portland Cement Terminal and the Memphis Overland Company, both located in Shelby County.
Nissan Stadium is moving to cashless payments for tickets, gear and concessions for all events. Stadium officials say the change will allow for faster payments and emphasizes their commitment to a contactless experience due to coronavirus concerns.
LG Electronics USA is expanding its Clarksville manufacturing plant. The expansion will create over 330 jobs. LG says it’s investing 20-and-a-half-million dollars to add another shift so it can keep up with “unprecedented U.S. demand” for its washing machines.
The Academy of Country Music held it 56th annual Awards sshow last night. Just like last year’s pandemic-impacted event, the show was staged at several locations throughout Music City, including the Grand Ole Opry House, the Ryman Auditorium and the Bluebird Cafe.
