The Cheatham County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed reports of a biplane that went down in water. Authorities later confirmed that one person, the pilot, died because of the Monday afternoon crash. Area responders reported seeing smoke but could not confirm that the smoke had come from a plane crash. The FAA added that only the pilot was aboard the aircraft.
