City leaders in Springfield have approved a $535,000 Local Parks and Recreation Fund Grant for upgrades at Martin Luther King Jr. Park. One person is dead, another hospitalized, and a juvenile is in custody following a Thursday night shooting in Portland.  Portland Police are investigating the shooting that occurred y just before 3 p.m. at a home on William Mack Lane. That is where they found 37-year-old Brandi Ladd, and 42-year-old John Heath both with gunshot wounds.  Heath was transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center.  H e is listed in stable condition.
