A Springfield man shot dead, and another man injured in Cottontown yesterday.  Deputies responding to a report of a shooting found a man shot in the face. He was taken from the scene by LifeFlight. Witnesses at the scene described and identified the shooter as 25-year-old Dontarius Long. He was later found dead from an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound. Two people are hospitalized following a fiery head-on crash on Buzzard Creek Rd Monday afternoon. A man was hit by a train in Portland just before 6 Friday night. The accident was behind TCAT / Portland East Middle School.  The Portland Fire Department says the victim was Life-Flighted to the hospital, but his condition is unknown. The city of Springfield has now added body cameras to further document interactions between citizens and police. Barry Baker, Supervisor of Career and Technical Education at Robertson County Schools, was killed in a 2008 traffic accident on Tom Austin Highway, just outside of Springfield. One of his students, real-estate developer, and 2004 ERHS graduate, Caleb Fuqua, recently memorialized Baker in one of Robertson County’s newest subdivisions by naming a street in his honor.
